Inspired by our roots in Indonesia and the many trips back to the country, we fell in love with Indonesia’s island of the gods, Bali. Bali has left a special place in our heart… the culture, rituals, nature, way of living, and above all, the people. Bali became a second home, it has been our place where we go to relax and slow down. A kimono is something we would always wear in Bali, especially when relaxing after a massage or at the beach. We discovered beautiful authentic fabrics in Bali, from all over Indonesia and the idea was born to design kimono’s from these rare fabrics, batik and ikat. While we started with designing these kimono’s in The Netherlands, very quickly we built a small team in Bali to help with the production and sourcing of fabrics, so faedah could also give a positive contribution to the working conditions in Bali and create more opportunity for the people in Bali, something that is very important for the team behind faedah.
